As part of the EECS Department’s ongoing efforts to develop valuable educational ties with industry, a new Industry Programs Office (IPO) has been established in EECS. Joel Schindall, the Bernard Gordon Professor of the Practice in EECS, and (as of July 2009) Associate Director of the Research Laboratory of Electronics (RLE) at MIT, has accepted the position as Director of the IPO.

Working with Joel Schindall within the umbrella of the Industry Programs Office, Marcus Zahn, the Thomas and Gerd Perkins Professor of Electrical Engineering continues to direct the VI-A M.Eng. Thesis Program, Cynthia Skier directs the Industrial Connection Program (ICP) and Charles Sodini, the LeBel Professor of Electrical Engineering, is helping to facilitate the new international component of VI-A [and, as of 2009 directs the EECS International Program].
